Volunteer: Mitzvah Day 2017
Come join fellow Cheveners, volunteers, and participants all across the country in celebrating Mitzvah Day on Sunday, 19 November 2017.
Mitzvah Day is both a charitable organisation, and a day of Jewish-led social action in November every year. According to their website: ‘on Mitzvah Day, we give our time, not our money, to make a difference to the community around us. We introduce people to social action, to their neighbours, and to local charities setting up projects which address real needs.
‘Mitzvah Day is Jewish-led and we bring people of other faiths, and none, to volunteer side-by-side, with fun and laughter, with our community, to get to know each other.’
This year, Chevening has collaborated with Mitzvah Day to identify volunteering projects that are being organised in cities all around the UK. These projects need your help!
To register for a project or to communicate your interest in assisting, please click on a listed event, or contact the relevant Jewish student society of the universities listed below.
We'd love to see what you're doing for Mitzvah Day so, if you volunteer, do share pictures and a story from the day with us using the hashtag #IAmChevening on Instagram or Twitter! You can also post about your Mitvah Day volunteering experiences in the scholar Facebook group.
