Meet our Chevening Western Balkans Cyber Security Fellows 2024-25

This fellowship, delivered at Cranfield University at the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom, provides fellows with an understanding of policy and legislative approaches in cyber security and its implications for national security, commercial opportunity, crime prevention, and the right to privacy.

Behar Fazliu

Cybersecurity entrepreneur

Behar is a distinguished former Army and Air Force officer turned cybersecurity entrepreneur. He has a strong background in Product Management and Technical Writing. He currently leads a team of experts delivering top-tier offensive security services.

Dejan Radić

CTO, ResolverSys d.o.o.

Dejan is a tech enthusiast with 10+ years of industry experience. His primary interests are innovative technologies. He graduated with honors and has a research track in database systems. Currently he is working as CTO at ResolverSys. He speaks regularly about novel technologies at meetups and conferences.

Sanjin Masovic

Police Detective, Ministry of Interior Republic of Serbia

Sanjin Masovic was born in 1990 in Novi Pazar, Serbia. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics and international politics and a master's degree in criminalistics. He has worked as a police detective since 2014 and a university professor since 2021. 

Lejla Turulja

Full Professor, University of Sarajevo - School of Economics and Business

Lejla is a professor at the University of Sarajevo - School of Economics and Business, specializing in digital transformation, innovation, and IT management. She is engaged in teaching and research at the BA, MA and Ph.D. levels and active in national and international projects.

Merita Dema

Commissioner, Energy Regulatory Commission of the Republic of North Macedonia

Merita is an electrical engineer with an MSc in Power Systems and 11+ years of experience in the energy sector. She began her career at the DSO with a crucial role in planning and leading the distribution grid. Now she is at the forefront of energy regulation, ensuring compliance with rules governing the electricity market.

Belma Ohranović

Chief Security Officer, Raiffeisen Bank Bosnia and Herzegovina

Belma Ohranović is the Chief Security Officer at Raiffeisen Bank and an active member of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s cybersecurity community. As VP of Women4Cyber B&H, President of the Information Security Committee, and Neretva volunteer, she strengthens the country's cyber capacity with nearly 20 years of experience.

Odeta Shkreli

Academic Staff, University of Tirana

Odeta is a seasoned professional with over 15 years experience in managerial roles. Committed to addressing Albania's ICT challenges, she emphasizes raising cybersecurity awareness. As a leader, she inspires her students while working to strengthen the country’s cybersecurity resilience and drive innovative solutions.

Sasho Koteski

Assistant Director for ICT and Security Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade

Sasho is an assistant director for ICT and security affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia, with over 20 years of experience in ICT and information security. He is an active member of North Macedonia's cyber security community, involved in cyber diplomacy and other activities.

Biljana Jovanovska Baleski

Advisor, Agency for Electronic Communications

Working as an Advisor at Nacional CIRT, Biljana has a profound understanding of the operational and strategic aspects of national-level security, significantly impacting and contributing to the work of the National CSIRT, one of the main stakeholders in North Macedonia focused on cyber security.

Jeton Ahmeti

Lieutenant Colonel of the Chief State Cybersecurity Training Center, Kosovo Security Force

Lieutenant Colonel Jeton Ahmeti graduated from Military Academy in 2010 and Command and General Staff College School in 2012. With extensive training in the US, he specialises in cybersecurity and currently leads the State Cyber Security Training Center, enhancing Kosovo's defense capabilities.

Ilir Daka

Head of Cyber Incident Simulation Unit, National Cyber Security Authority

Ilir is a cyber security expert with more than 14 years of experience in IT and cyber security. Educated in Albania with a BSc in Electronic Engineering and Masters in IT, Ilir has broader experience in IT, Telecommunication, OT Systems and Cyber Security and holds Certified Network Trainer, ISO 27001 LA, CompTIA.
