A warm and inviting community
From the moment you set foot in St Andrews, you will feel the warmth and hospitality that the University is known for. The University’s smaller student body fosters a tight-knit, supportive community where everyone feels welcome. Whether it is chatting with professors over coffee, working on group projects, or participating in student societies, there is a strong sense of camaraderie and belonging.
A rich historical backdrop
Picture yourself walking through cobblestone streets where scholars have roamed since 1413. As Scotland’s oldest university and the third oldest in the English-speaking world, St Andrews is a place where history and modernity intertwine seamlessly. The grandeur of its historic buildings, like the iconic St Salvator’s Chapel and the majestic Quadrangle, provides a daily reminder of the University’s storied past. It is like stepping into a living history book, where every stone has a story to tell.
Pursuing my Master’s degree at St Andrews is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life. The University itself offers a lot of beneficial opportunities, such as academic services, sports facilities, entertainment events, and even Scottish traditions. I truly feel the definition of work-life balance here because whenever I got bored with my study load in the library, I could just relax and enjoy the fresh air walking around the beaches and playing golf with splendid coastal views.

The area around the university is great if you like the outdoors, with peaceful walks around town or along the beach. On rare nights, it’s even possible to see the Northern Lights from the coast!
