Social media ambassadors

Chevening Social Media Ambassadors (SMAs) showcase what it’s like to be a Chevening scholar by attending events and documenting their experiences of life in the UK.

SMAs show our community what it’s really like to study, travel, and live in the UK. They attend and share content from various social and academic Chevening events throughout the year. They also use videos, blogs, and social media posts to give us an insight into their day-to-day lives.

Marko Stanković

Country: Serbia
University: Birkbeck, University of London
Course: MSc International Security and Global Governance

‘I am a human being with a background in law, human rights, security sector reform, and youth education, particularly in the Western Balkans. Driven by justice, equality, and peace, I aim to lead initiatives on a global scale. Content creation is where I unwind. Editing videos and designing aesthetic posts that tell a story is just the vibe. PS If my photo looks serious, I assure you that’s just my ‘ready to change the world’ face and I’m actually all smiles!’

Sandrah Kahumuza

‘I am a broadcast journalist specializing in impactful storytelling on climate resilience, poverty, and education. Currently pursuing an MSc in African and International Development at the University of Edinburgh, I bring over five years of experience in content creation with NTV Uganda and Germany’s DW-TV. As a global moderator and influencer across Africa, I aspire to empower organizations to drive sustainable, transformative social impact through strategic communications, aiming to leave a lasting legacy in the development sector.’

‘As a lawyer-to-be turned artist, I found myself interested in storytelling, not only through words but also through illustration. As a book author and illustrator, I can’t wait to share my Chevening journey in the UK, covering university life, art, culture, and more. Honoured to be chosen as the Chevening Social Media Ambassador this year, I hope to inspire other Cheveners to make the most of their time in the UK, and welcome future applicants to become a part of our impactful Chevening community.’

Francisco Sanchez Moreno

Country: Argentina

Course: MSc Leadership and Development

‘I was born in Argentina and played professional tennis until age 17. I studied Economics and Philosophy at the University of Buenos Aires and completed a master’s in International Relations at Torcuato Di Tella University. I co-founded ¿Dónde Ayudo?, a platform connecting 1,500 volunteers with NGOs across Latin America. I then worked as Director of Housing and Director of Recycling and Circular Economy for Buenos Aires City Government, later becoming a partner at Campamento Base, a leadership development hub.’

‘I come from Mojokerto, East Java, Indonesia, a city known for its rich history of the Majapahit Kingdom, which played a significant role in the regions’ cultural. Currently, I am pursuing an MSc in Management at the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow, where I am honing my skills and knowledge in business management. I have a passion for travelling, which fuels my adventurous nature as I seek to explore new cultures and experiences in Scotland and the rest of the United Kingdom.’

‘Driven to work for the rights of people with disabilities, I chased my dreams and landed on #MyCheveningJourney. Soon, I was wheeling on the streets of London and rolling in and out of the tube! As your social media ambassador, I look forward to sharing snippets from my life in London – spots, eateries and whatnot – all with a pinch of poetry, humour, and memes. ‘I am a journalist with a strong commitment to driving change in my community. Journalism has always been my tool to be the voice for voiceless people. Over the past decade, I have produced in-depth reports on marginalized communities and brought attention to those who are working against the law. My work was published and broadcasted on BBC, DW Arabic, Al jazeera among other media outlets.
