Chevening Alumna elected Montserrat’s Deputy Premier and Minister of Education, Health & Community Services
Mrs Delmaude Ryan, Chevening Scholar 2008/2009 was recently sworn in as Montserrat’s new Deputy Premier and Minister of Education, Health & Community Services following the island’s general elections on 11 September.
Mrs Ryan’s campaign focused on education, public service leadership, community activism, and volunteerism in Montserrat.
Prior to the general election Mrs Ryan’s 16 years of public service channelled her passion for people development, leading her to facilitate youth and adult learning programmes and hold several senior government positions including: Head Public Sector Reform Unit, Director (Resp) Performance Management and Development and Director Organizational Development.
As a Chevening Scholar Mrs Ryan graduated from the University of Manchester (MA) in International Development, Public Policy and Management.
