Our terms and conditions require all scholars to return to their country/territory of award for a period of two years immediately following the completion of their award. Please visit our travelling home after your award page for more information about the end of your scholarship.
Scholars will receive a request from the Chevening Secretariat asking for additional information regarding their visa appointments, to help us facilitate the visa process. Please note that Chevening has no influence over the speed or outcome of the visa process. Please do not share any information about your visa application with anyone else.
No, Chevening Scholars cannot apply for a Graduate route visa. When you accept a Chevening Award, you agree to return home for two years at the end of your scholarship.
You can submit your application without a valid passport. However, you will be required to bring a valid passport or official photo identification to your interview at the British embassy or high commission if selected.
You should use the passport from the country for which you have been awarded the scholarship. You should not use a diplomatic or government official passport to travel to the UK because your Chevening Scholarship is not considered to be an official posting.
