The Chevening – Alberto Benavides de la Quintana partner scholarship for Peruvian students has been renewed for two years following an agreement between the British Embassy in Lima and the Los Andes de Cajamarca Association (ALAC).
The scholarship will co-fund two scholarships for students from Cajamarca, Peru, who wish to study for a master’s degree in the United Kingdom. This scholarship seeks to enhance the skills of future leaders in the region.
The scholarship was renewed following a meeting between Kate Harrison, the British Ambassador to Peru, and Violeta Vigo, Director of the Los Andes de Cajamarca Association (ALAC).
The UK government’s Chevening Scholarship programme started in 1983 and is open to eligible applicants from more than 160 countries and territories around the world.
Chevening funds students to study one-year master’s degrees in any subject and at any UK university, with the aim of creating positive and lasting relationships between the UK and future leaders, influencers and decision makers around the world.
Applications for the Chevening scholarship open on August 3 and close on November 2, 2021.
