Chevening gives warm welcome to 2014/2015 scholars during this year’s orientation event
More than 600 Chevening Scholars have come together at the 2014/2015 Orientation Event held on Saturday 25 October at Queen Elizabeth II Conference centre.
Welcomed by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, scholars had the opportunity to meet their programme officer and participate in a wide range of activities throughout the day. They learned about their scholarship essentials and what it will be like to live in the UK, and enjoyed guest speeches delivered by BBC World Service’s Dan Damon and Chevening Alumnus Hayati Yarkadas from Turkey.
After taking part in the Opportunities Fair, a series of interactive regional information sessions and panel discussions, Chevening Scholars arrived at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office where they enjoyed the evening reception and networked with other scholars and Chevening staff.
Our scholars have a wonderful year ahead of them and we wish them great success with their studies and life in the UK!
