Foreign Secretary’s New Year message to Chevening Scholars and Alumni
2014 was an important year for the Chevening Scholarship programme. The launch of the first ever global alumni database and the creation of a global alumni association – the Chevening Alumni Alliance – have enhanced our ability to connect and collaborate. And I hope that you were able to take part in the worldwide events celebrating Chevening’s 30th anniversary as part of the global network of over 43,000 Chevening Alumni.
I hope too that the bonds created to mark this special anniversary, and through Chevening Alumni activities across the globe, will strengthen still further in the years ahead as we work together to promote common values and confront common challenges.
I wish you and your families a happy and prosperous 2015.
The Rt Hon Philip Hammond MP
Secretary of State for Foreign & Commonwealth Affairs
