Over the past 12 months, we’re delighted to have welcomed several new Chevening partners, who have helped us to increase our impact and change more lives.
Every year, we partner with organisations who share our vision for investing in the education of future leaders.
Thanks to the generous support of 130 partners, an additional 352 scholars have been able to study with Chevening in 2023-24. This represents 25% of the total cohort.
Ahmed Duale, from the Republic of Somaliland, is one such scholar who is currently pursuing a Master of Arts (MA) in Environment, Development, and Policy at the University of Sussex, thanks to the support of the Carbon Trust and Transforming Energy Access (TEA) platform.
Ahmed had this to say about his partner funded Chevening Award:
Corporate partners fully or jointly fund individuals to study for a UK master’s degree. They often choose to fund study in specific areas that align with their organisational objectives. This helps them to not only meet their corporate social responsibility targets, but also to develop lasting relationships with people who will go on to become industry leaders.
Chevening’s university partners, on the other hand, waive their fees for an agreed number of scholars to study at their institutions.
Recently, we’ve been delighted to sign new partnerships with:

For ATCO, who specialise in energy transition, partnering with Chevening forms part of their commitment to create ‘prosperity and opportunity for generations to come’.
Upon signing the Chevening partnership, Chair and Chief Executive Officer of ATCO Ltd Nancy Southern said:
With the support of our partners, more than 57,000 exceptional individuals have had the opportunity to study in the UK on a Chevening Scholarship over the past 40 years.
The impact that this has had can be felt around the world, with 20 Chevening Alumni going on to become heads of state in their countries, and countless others serving as ministers, diplomats, and top civil servants.
