Bristol Festival of Nature

Held at Bristol’s beautiful Harbourside, this massive celebration of the natural world features hundreds of organisations and exciting events including hands-on activities, arts, lectures, fascinating tours, film screenings, a local-produce market and live entertainment.
The event, run by the Bristol Natural History Consortium, culminates in a spectacle of colour and sound on Sunday afternoon as the festival sets sail along the River Avon to Bath. Past festivals have included a portable planetarium, pop-up butterfly garden, as well as talks from distinguished BBC presenters including Sir David Attenborough and Monty Hall.

Grassington Festival

This summer’s Grassington Festival in June is a popular two-week extravaganza in the Yorkshire Dales, with music, theatre, film, comedy, and more. Starting with a carnival parade, the Yorkshire market town of Grassington comes alive each summer for a colourful fortnight of live performances, visual arts, and music.
Over the last two weeks of June, artists, bands, and local people come together to collaborate in a series of live performances, ranging from music, dance and street theatre to workshops, talks, walks, and creative challenges. Much of the action takes place around the bustling cobbled market square, fringed by shops offering local foods, speciality gifts, and arts and crafts.

Step back in time at Broadstairs Dickens Festival

Author Charles Dickens visited Broadstairs in Kent regularly from 1837 until 1859 and immortalised the town as ‘Our English Watering Place’. In 1937, to commemorate the centenary of the author’s first visit, Gladys Waterer, the then resident of Dickens House, conceived the idea of putting on a production of David Copperfield. She wanted people to go about the town in Victorian dress to publicise it. Thus the Broadstairs Dickens Festival was born and has been held annually since.
Follow in Charles Dickens’ footsteps by coming to Broadstairs. Savour the delights of the town which Dickens described as ‘the freshest, freest place’.

2017 Women’s Champions League final: Cardiff

Women’s football is a growing sport in Wales. In 2013, Wales hosted the UEFA European Women’s Under-19s Championship, the first UEFA finals to be played in Wales and a milestone in the growth of the sport there. The Welsh Premier Women’s League is also an established national league, with a strategy of encouraging participation in football among young girls.
Cardiff is also home to Wales’ domestic champions. Cardiff Met dominated the league in recent seasons, winning the title three seasons in a row, and lifted the 2015/2016 season domestic cup.

Open Garden Squares Weekend 2017

Feed your curiosity and explore over 230 private, secret, and little-known gardens across 27 London boroughs over one very special weekend. Gardens range from the historic and traditional to the new and experimental. They include private gardens, roof gardens, community allotments, gardens belonging to historic buildings, institutions, cafes, schools, and shops. One ticket gives access to numerous gardens on both Saturday, 17 and Sunday, 18 June 2017.
