Fundación Brugal
Fundación Brugal was created to promote sustainable development and poverty reduction in the Dominican Republic through social welfare and educational support.
Fundación Brugal is known in the Dominican Republic mainly through an annual award ceremony that recognizes NGO’s that work in health, education, conservation, innovation and arts.
In 2005, the University Scholarship Fund for Education was created benefiting 297 students to date, mainly in the fields of engineering and technology.
This partnership supports applicants from the Dominican Republic studying education and STEM related fields. Partnering with Chevening will provide Dominican students the opportunity to pursue their master’s degree at prestigious universities abroad.
Notable alumni
Dr Pedro Antonio Solares Hernández was awarded the scholarship from Fundación Brugal to study industrial engineering at Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM). The Foundation’s scholarship represented for Pedro the springboard that allowed him to continue his educational and professional development.
